OMS Specialty Sport Summer Camps
OMS Specialty Sport Camps take our Adventure Sports Camps to the next level and expose campers to multi day summer sports activities that involve skill development, mental focus and courage.
Each week will include overnight accommodations - camping or in rustic cabins. Activities will be based around each weekly focus and challenge each camper's skills. Campers are expected to have at least basic experience with the focus of each camp, with the exception of mountain biking for which campers are expected to be highly proficient.
Camp Session One - REGISTRATION CLOSED
Rock Climbing, Caving, Repelling
Dates: July 15 - 19, 2024
Minimum Age: 13 (exceptions can be discussed)
Prerequisites: Comfortable with heights and some experience rock climbing and rapelling
Cost: $1,550
This is a week-long (Monday morning - Friday afternoon) overnight camp exploring some of the best rock climbing and caving sites in the Northeast. Campers will have a week to work with seasoned professional climber / instructor Steve Lulek and his staff from Green Mountain Rock Climbing. Every day the group will travel to a different site with a focus on learning new climbing skills and challenging themselves. Campers will be staying in cabins each night for the duration of the trip.
Camp Session Three:
Mountain Biking
Dates: August 12 - 16, 2024
Minimum Age: 13 (exceptions can be discussed)
Prerequisites: Highly proficient mountain biker

White Water Kayking
Dates: July 31 - August 4, 2024
Minimum Age: 13 (exceptions can be discussed)
Prerequisites: Comfortable with water sports with strong swimming skills
Cost: $1,550
From never-ever whitewater kayakers to experienced paddlers, this is a 4 day whitewater kayaking course with professional instructors from Zoar Outdoor based on the Deerfield River in Massachusetts, a popular destination for whitewater in the Northeast: https://youtu.be/-ctuflkbwPQ bookended with a Zipline tour at Berkshire East.
This is an overnight camp. Campers will be staying in cabin tents Wednesday through Saturday nights.
This camp is an overnight camp that will travel to a new mountain bike destination in Vermont each day. Rides will be primarily singletrack and cross country with some downhill. Lodging will be at Vermont State Parks in cabins Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be at the Burke Bike Barn or comparable accommodations.
As of June 2024, Okemo Mountain School no longer requires vaccination against COVID-19. However, Okemo Mountain School highly encourages annual flu shots and COVID-19 boosters for all student- athletes, camp participants, faculty, and staff.
The Okemo Mountain School Board of Directors will regularly review this policy and reserves the right to revise said policy as needed to stay in line with state and/or national public health recommendations.
