Okemo Mountain School is offering a pre-season fundamentals camp for U12-U19 alpine ski racing athletes in Summit County, Colorado with 10 days of on snow training (weather permitting) and academic support. (U12s must have a coach’s recommendation to attend)
Camp accommodations will be at a Condo in Copper Village, CO right at the base of the mountain walking distance to the lift! The majority of our training will be at Copper Mountain, with some directed free skiing and drill days at Arapahoe Basin as well.
Athletes will be taken through a series of fundamentals progressions and drills for Slalom and GS skiing. We will use drills and progressions to work on turn shape and tactics, training in brushes, and full gates drill courses and working into full gate legal course sets. This is a great camp to begin the season with and a great chance to get a head start on good snow!
Athletes will have 2 hour study halls each night to complete school work with the assistance of an OMS teacher. The OMS teacher will provide academic support, as well as facilitate any other subject specific academic support remotely from other teachers at OMS. Tests and quizzes can be administered. Athletes are responsible for using their free time to complete assignments beyond the study hall hours if necessary, although the teacher will always be accessible for support.

Cost: The cost will be approximately $3,300 (final price TBD based on number of campers). Cost includes airfare, lodging, lift tickets, ground transportation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Travel: Air travel will be as a group with final itinerary and departure airport TBD. Any athletes departing from the Ludlow area will be able to travel to the airport in an OMS van. If you would like to make alternate flight arrangements for your athlete to fly to/from an airport that is more convenient for you, please contact us to discuss logistics. ASAP!!! This way we can better plan for the number of tickets we will need to purchase.

The balance of the trip will be collected once the final price is set, but must be paid in full by departure.
